legacy in motion.
JRD Motorsport’s story began in 1984 in the small town of Alvesta, Sweden, where founders Johan Ragnarsson and Niclas Jancic united their engineering expertise and passion for motorsports. Working out of a modest sheet metal shop, they began building rally and custom high-performance cars fueled by an unwavering drive for speed, precision, and innovation. In 1993, the duo made their move to Florida, United States, focusing on high-end custom cars and advanced coachwork.
Meanwhile, in Braselton, GA, Don Panoz was building Indy 500 winning racecars, and getting involved in endurance racing. Panoz asked Johan and Niclas to join in the development of the new Panoz Esperante road car and subsequently purchased a portion of the company. JRD became the prototyping shop and the in-house performance upgrade and accessory division of the organization. The race version of the Panoz Esperante went on to take GT2 class victories at the 24 Hours of Le Mans and the 12 Hours of Sebring.
After Dr. Panoz's passing, JRD once again became an independent company. The focus of JRD today is rally and racing-related products. Rally cars built by JRD Motorsport clinched the 2016 Rally America NLO championship, and American Rally Association 2WD championships in 2018, 2020, 2021, and 2022.
Today, the 4WD ARC2 Spec Rally car is setting new benchmarks in design, and redefining performance standards.
